Watch Free UK TV Abroad Over the Internet
British TV for expats is no longer a problem. Live programming and Catchup services via the internet are already available. Services such as BBC I Player / ITV Catchup and 4 On Demand are here to stay and gaining popularity as the most flexible and convenient way to watch what you want, when you want and from where you want.
But Free UK TV is Blocked from Abroad!
UK Television from abroad is not only available to anyone with a broadband internet connection but it is also very easy and inexpensive to access. If you have been exasperated by that ” Not Available in Your Area” message, we have the answer for you here.
So What Do I Need to Do?
You need to make your computer appear as if it is based in the UK and you do this by changing your IP Address. We won’t bore you with the technical stuff but our recommended way of achieving this is through using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) connection. A VPN Service will supply you with a secondary connection to use when you are already connected to the internet via your broadband. When you use this connection you open up a VPN tunnel between your computer and their UK based servers. When you click on Catchup or Live Streaming such as BBC I Player or Zattoo you will appear to be accessing them from the UK thus bypassing the geoblocking. This is very easy to set up and some of the providers have a small piece of software for you to download which does it all automatically
Be careful when choosing a VPN service as the price varies between £5 p/m up as high as £30 with major differences in the quality, speed and support you receive and as always, cheapest is not necessarily the good option and neither is the most expensive!
